Our Mission

At Trauma to Triumph, we know first hand the struggle and challenge you face after sustaining a life-altering diagnosis, injury or disability. Our board member, Laura Spitnale, had her world rocked when her husband, Scott Spitnale, sustained life threatening injuries after being hit while on his motorcycle by a negligent driver. Through a miracle and the amazing team at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma, Scott survived. Life looks a little different now as a paraplegic and amputee, but if you ask him, he's forever grateful to be alive. Together, Laura and Scott have navigated the post-injury world, and found barriers they needed to overcome and doors they needed to re-open.

Unfortunately, re-opening those doors can be costly. That's why Trauma to Triumph was created: To give those in need after an injury, disability or diagnosis the support needed to not only open the door, but rip it off the hinges!
